Dogecoin co-founder says ApeCoin token from Bored Ape Yacht Club is bad for the entire NFT segment

Billy Marcus, one of the creators of Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency based on the internet meme Doge, has spoken out about the recently released ApeCoin coin. In his social media post, he points out the harm of the token, which is part of the world-renowned NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club.

According to Marcus, the APE coins that are actively distributed to users are harming the entire industry of non-interchangeable tokens. Their main problem is their rapid rise in popularity and price, and then an equally rapid decline. This trend leads to a growing distrust of the NFT industry on the part of ordinary investors, he explained.

The developer admitted that among users there will be many who are not satisfied with such a position. Marcus urged not to feel negativity towards him and the Dogecoin project. If, however, his statement provokes any attacks, the opinion about the toxicity of the token community will find practical confirmation.

Earlier it became known that the authors of the NFT-collection Bored Ape Yacht Club are trying to find instruments to diversify their income. In addition to the creation and sale of the NFT collection, the developers plan to engage in the implementation of the virtual land plots within their constructed meta universe.
