The amount of spam in the crypto industry has grown to critical levels

Over the past two years, the number of malicious accounts and services in the cryptocurrency industry has increased by almost 4 thousand percent. This is evidenced by the data from the report of the research company LunarCrush.

According to the published data, to date the volume of accounts that spread all sorts of spam in social networks has exceeded the previously established maximum values. Despite the already threatening values, their number continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, experts say.

One of the reasons for such a wide spread of spam accounts, according to experts, is the source of their creation. The overwhelming majority of malicious accounts are created by real people. That is why programs more often fail to detect and disarm spam, LunarCrush added.

Also, the research company pointed to one of the top "hotbeds" of bots and spam. It was Twitter social network that is very popular among cryptocurrency community. Over the past few years the amount of spam on it increased by more than 1.3 thousand percent. The social network itself is not fighting it, because the number of accounts increases the value of the site, the company says.
