The cryptocurrency community has donated millions of dollars to Ukrainian authorities

Private crypto-investors and commercial organizations around the world sent more than $13 million in donations to the Ukrainian government. Journalist Colin Wu wrote about it in his Twitter.

In particular, the arrival of funds to the Ukrainian authorities became possible thanks to the publication of addresses for the transfer of BTC and Ethereum by the official Twitter account of the government. Acceptance of donations to the Ukrainian government was opened on Saturday, February 26, but has already managed to bring about $7 million to the treasury.

The publication of the Ukrainian authorities drew a large number of comments. In one of them, the creator of the blockchain platform Polkadot Gavin Wood expressed his willingness to send Ukraine $5 million from his pocket, but for this the state must send an address in DOT tokens.

At the same time, a number of users, including Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, suggested that the official account of the country's government had been stolen and money was being swindled by fraudsters. Later, Buterin indicated that he had verified the authenticity of the account and wallets.

In parallel, the head of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, spoke about his desire to help resolve the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. According to him, the platform is ready to donate $10 million for this purpose.
