The restaurant dedicated to the NFT-project BAYC stopped accepting cryptocurrencies

California restaurant Bored & Hungry, styled after the popular NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club, no longer accepts ApeCoin and ETH cryptocurrency as payment. Employees claim the reason is the collapse of the cryptocurrency market.

From the very beginning, the creators of the restaurant were focused on the stylistics of the NFT project BAYC, so they decorated the premises with various pictures and memes related to the characters of the non-exchangeable tokens. Later, the owners decided to involve their customers even more into the world of digital assets and started accepting payments in ETH and APE.

However, after a few months, the restaurant stopped serving customers for cryptocurrency. As the venue's staff explained, a sharp drop in the cryptocurrency market, including the exchange rate of ether, was to blame. Now the owners of Bored & Hungry refuse to talk about the possible return of payment with digital assets.

According to local journalists, this hasn't really hit the establishment's customers. As it turns out, the vast majority are not interested in cryptocurrencies and pay for food and drinks with regular dollars. Some, however, said they did not want to spend the digital assets because they were counting on their exchange rate increasing soon. One customer admitted that he had no idea that Bored & Hungry was connected to cryptocurrencies, he just liked the atmosphere of the place.
