Hackers broke into UK Army accounts to promote NFT scam

Twitter and YouTube accounts belonging to the British Army were hacked and used by fraudsters to promote fake draws of non-fungible token (NFT). Military officials have already managed to comment on the incident.

It is noted that the Twitter account of the agency was in the hands of hackers for about 4 hours. During this time, they managed to fill it with phishing links and appeals to go to third-party resources, where contests and giveaways NFT allegedly take place.

During the time that the official account was under remote access, its name, as well as its avatar, changed several times. Hackers mostly used pictures with cartoon monkeys to attract attention. The most active attackers promoted fake collections of non-fungible tokens: "The Possessed" and "BAPESCLAN".

In addition, the army's YouTube channel was also attacked. A spokesperson for the military has since indicated that the agency is now busy resolving the problem and conducting an investigation. Until it is completed, there will be no comment. Experts reacted to the incident with concern that such attacks could continue in the future.
