Director of a cryptocurrency exchange said that crooks have a special place in hell

Financial scammers are causing significant damage to the cryptocurrency industry, and they are "going to hell" for it. Curtis Ting, a representative of Kraken cryptocurrency exchange management, expressed his indignation over the activities of criminals.

Ting, a former FBI employee and now one of the leading managers of a major cryptocurrency exchange, wished all scammers to end up in hell for their deeds. He singled out a recent crime, the victim of which was an elderly resident of Great Britain. A 77-year-old pensioner lost about £800,000 in just one month after he was persuaded by criminals.

Ting noted that the criminals caught the victim's attention with promises of saving money through investments in cryptocurrencies. To begin with, the elderly Briton was required to make a £50 transfer, but soon the transactions increased tenfold. By the end of the month, while the criminals were ruthlessly ripping off the pensioner, the latter even managed to mortgage his house.

Curtis Ting noticed that all the transactions went through his exchange. Even the security mechanisms and controls there, such as temporary freezing of the account of a user who planned a large transfer of funds to another address, did not help.
