Mastercard credit and debit card users will be able to buy non-fungible tokens (NFT) without fiat to cryptocurrency conversion. To this end, the payment system has signed partnership agreements with a number of companies engaged in the transfer of digital currencies. Among them are The Sandbox, Spring, MoonPay and others.

Vice President of Mastercard Raj Damodaran commented on the innovation. According to him, a partnership with such venues will enable the payment system to provide its users a convenient way to purchase NFTs. The new partners will develop their own platforms where Mastercard customers will be able to buy tokens without having to transfer money into cryptocurrency, Damodaran added.

The vice president of the company also recalled a recent survey conducted by Mastercard. It surveyed 35 thousand cardholders from 40 countries of the world. It turned out that about 45% of the respondents are NFT holders or are about to purchase tokens in the near future.

Meanwhile, Mastercard continues to cooperate with Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange. As part of their working together, exchange users can buy NFTs under a simplified scheme.
