Mining pool BTC.com banned access to users from Russia

The well-known cryptocurrency mining pool BTC.com decided to suspend the registration of all new users with a Russian IP address from Saturday, March 5 of this year. In addition, previously registered Russians also faced a ban on using the pool's services.

The site, fixing that the registration or authorization on the site is from Russia, shows the user the appropriate notification. It says that BTC.com service does not support the region from which attempts to log in are made. The report also notes that in addition to users from Russia the ban on the use of pool services applies to citizens of mainland China.

If a user is not a resident or citizen of these two countries, he must additionally confirm it by agreeing to the terms of use of the pool.

As noted by the media, BTC.com is among the most popular pools mining the first cryptocurrency. According to statistics over the past few months, the platform managed to take a share of 6.5% of the total aggregate bitcoin hash rate.
