On Twitter the day before, the first part of the film produced by the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase was published. It uses monkeys from the iconic Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection of non-fungible tokens as its main characters.

The cryptocurrency exchange announced the launch of this project back in the spring. Eventually an interactive film "The Degen Trilogy" will have three parts, but at the moment viewers can get acquainted only with the first series. It features the NFT meetings of BAYC and the Etherium-based token ApeCoin. Users who want to see their NFTs from the famous collection in the next parts of the film can apply on the Coinbase NFT portal, the exchange representatives pointed out.

Experts believe that the company was pushed to create such a project by the lack of involvement of users in its platform. For example, compared with the absolute leader OpenSea, the Coinbase exchange's trading volume is two thousand times lower. Earlier, the company was accused by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Later Coinbase lost significant positions in the rating of Goldman Sachs.

All this, according to participants of the cryptocurrency community, not the best way affects the image of the company, and the release of its film in such conditions can be a mistake.
