Minecraft developers refused to add NFT to the game

Game studio Mojang Studios, which created the popular sandbox Minecraft, said it will not integrate non-fungible tokens (NFT) into its project. Also the company, despite current trends, refused to support blockchain technology.

According to the developers, the introduction of NFT would violate the company's strategy to provide all players with the same content. The integration of non-fungible tokens into the project is directly related to the likely shortage of any coins on the market. This means that the user experience of a significant part of the players will be disrupted, the studio explained its decision.

Speaking about the risks of using blockchain technology, the game company noted that they fear an increase in speculation in Minecraft. Concentration on market relations, including the sale of skins and game items would lead to a distraction of players from the game itself and its key game mechanics, the developers believe.

At the same time, Minecraft creators are closely watching the development of blockchain. They assured that they do not reject the possibility of introducing NFT and other systems based on this technology in the future. The only condition is their compliance with the current principles of the company.
