U.S. Figure Skating Association began accepting donations in cryptocurrency

The U.S. Figure Skating Association (US Figure Skating) began accepting voluntary donations in the form of cryptocurrencies. According to a press release, this innovation was made available after signing a contract with the platform Engiven - the leading platform for managing donations in digital currency.

As indicated on the site, everyone is now able to donate to one of five funds in any popular cryptocurrency, be it BTC, Ethereum, Dogecoin and others. It is reported that voluntary transfers will not be accompanied by tax fees, and the program itself will improve existing figure skating programs in the U.S. and push athletes to new heights.

Also, according to the association's executive director, there is a chance that figure skating in the U.S. will begin to develop even more rapidly thanks to such a move. It is supposed that in this way it will be possible to increase the financial support of the clubs, athletes and all kinds of events.

Earlier in the U.S. a similar system has already been introduced. So, at the end of 2020, with the help of the same Engiven platform, donations in BTC and Ethereum were opened, which were then sent to the Salvation Army headquarters.
