Apartment sold in Portugal for 3 BTC

The day before in the Portuguese city of Braga there was a significant financial transaction for the entire cryptocurrency industry. A local resident, who wished to remain incognito, sold his apartment for bitcoins. As reported by intermediary company Zome, the cryptocurrency was not converted into fiat beforehand, which makes this transaction truly legendary.

The company that accompanied the transaction has already had time to express its opinion on the matter. Zome called the transfer of cryptocurrency into a physical asset without first converting it into currency is a historic milestone. It is reported, that the buyer spent 3 BTC to purchase the property.

Specialists commenting on the deal reminded that not so long ago, real estate owners and realtors could make transactions only if the digital assets were converted into fiat currency, such as the euro.

Earlier this year, a Dutch family moved to Portugal permanently. They explained their move by the openness of Portuguese legislation to cryptocurrencies. At the same time, according to a recent survey, it is digital assets that the Portuguese positioned as their least preferred financial instrument.
