A couple from the US got married in the Decentraland metacos universe

At the beginning of February this year, a legally verified wedding ceremony was held in virtual reality mode. The event was organized for the first time in the Decentraland meta-universe. In addition to two thousand invited guests and witnesses, the wedding was attended by an official who registered the marriage.

In reality the couple from Arizona got married 14 years ago, but Ryan and Candace Hurley wanted to repeat the significant event for them, but already in virtual reality. To help in the implementation of the idea called the company Rose Law Group, specializing in solving legal issues.

Before carrying out a wedding ceremony the bride and groom were required to sign a prenuptial agreement online. Unlike its traditional counterpart, in addition to identifying identity, it also contained information about the newlyweds' digital assets. The certificate of marriage was issued in the NFT format.

As foreign publications reported, there were technical problems throughout the ceremony. In particular, some guests complained that on their screens the bride was wearing anything but her wedding dress. Others claimed they couldn't see a virtual version of Candice Hurley at all.
