Chinese Komsomol celebrated Youth Day with the launch of the NFT collection

The Communist Youth Union of China announced the release of a unique series of non-interchangeable tokens (NFTs)
specifically for Youth Day. A similar initiative was launched by Peking University, introducing its NFT collection, timed to coincide with the 103rd anniversary of the national holiday.

It is noted that the Komsomol presented 54 thousand tokens. The themed collection contains NFTs with various images of the cartoon character tuanbao. The token distribution took place immediately after the launch of the series and took no more than an hour. Since commercial distribution of digital assets is banned in the PRC, the anniversary collection cannot be bought or sold. The organization states that these are just collectibles in virtual form.

Parallel to the Komsomol of China, the non-exchangeable tokens were issued by Peking University. In total, the educational institution distributed 20,000 NFTs, thus celebrating Youth Day and the 124th anniversary of its founding.

Youth Day has been celebrated in China since May 4, 1919, when mass student strikes were first organized in the capital. Demonstrators opposed the outcome of the peace conference after the end of World War I, when Chinese territories were placed under Japanese rule.
