The Ministry of Finance told when a decision on cryptocurrency in Russia will be made

Russian authorities are serious about the regulation of cryptocurrencies in the country. According to Alexei Moiseyev, deputy head of the Ministry of Finance, the government is currently actively discussing ways to control the market.

It is planned that during February this year the country's leadership will be able to present the developed action plan to the public. At the moment, Moiseyev continued, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance have a number of significant differences on how to regulate digital assets. The only thing the two agencies have in common is their desire to limit settlements with cryptocurrencies, the official noted.

"It's not very clear yet how we will reconcile the positions, but I don't want to give up the option of compromise in the future. I think that as we work, some kind of compromise will be found," the deputy finance minister added.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government and the Bank of Russia to hold a joint discussion of ways and measures to regulate cryptocurrencies. The Russian leader also stressed that this topic is familiar to him and he is following the developments.
