Starbucks coffee chain intends to integrate customer rewards program into Web3

Starbucks, a popular coffee chain worldwide, intends to launch a Web3 rewards program. The goal is to attract as many new customers as possible and to ensure conditions for retaining old ones. The details of the program were shared by the acting director of the company, Howard Schultz.

According to him, Starbucks very soon will present a fresh digital initiative, which will be designed to expand the chain's existing loyalty program. The biggest focus, he notes, will be on Starbucks Rewards, a system of earning stars for the most active customers. In addition, Web3's support includes phased implementation of other emotional engagement tools.

The company's existing ecosystem will need to be supplemented with all sorts of collectibles in digital format. Starbucks plans to use them not only as a reward, but also as a social component. According to the top manager, the announcement of the full transition to Web3 will take place on September 13.

Schultz concluded by elaborating on the company's goals. Right now, it is very important for Starbucks to retain
young part of the customer base, which is gradually reoriented to other coffee shops. It is also necessary to do everything possible to increase the attractiveness of the franchise for new customers, the top manager summed up.
