Netflix will stop advertising cryptocurrencies

American streaming service Netflix does not intend to introduce in their projects advertising that promotes cryptocurrencies. This information was shared with reporters in The Sydney Morning Herald, citing an anonymous source in the company.

It is noted that in this way Netflix is trying to avoid possible claims from financial regulators, closely watching the spread of digital assets. In many states, supervisory authorities punish very harshly platforms that have been involved in advertising cooperation with cryptocurrency projects, that turned out to be fraudulent.

The same edition writes that the advertising policy of the media giant has been revised to protect against possible lawsuits and fines. In addition to promoting the cryptocurrency projects Netflix had to abandon advertising of children's products, platforms related to politics and gambling. Among other things, the company is now discussing inclusion in this list the advertising of medicines.

In the spring of this year, Netflix announced the launch of a unique video service Ppleasr Shibuya. Its key feature was interactivity, allowing NFT owners to change the plot of the watched movies.
